Welcome to my Aloe Vera Gel Facts page! I just want to share with you a few of the insights I have harvested over the years about this aptly named 'Miracle Plant'.
ALOE'S FAMILY TREE Aloe Vera looks like a cactus but belongs to the lily and onion family, related to garlic and asparagus. THE PLANT'S EGYPTIAN PAST Carvings of Aloe Vera were found on Egypt’s temple walls in the fourth century BC. A BIBLICAL MENTION The Bible says that Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and Aloe Vera to the burial chamber to anoint Christ’s body. ALOE THE HEALER Aloe Vera’s healing properties have meant that it is known as the ‘Miracle Plant’, ‘Wand of Heaven’ and ‘Immortality’ among many other accolades. THE MATURE ALOE Aloe Vera only reaches its full potency after four years’ growth. ALOE USES Aloe can be drunk as a nutritional drink or tonic or applied to skin or scalp in cream or lotion.
FURTHER ALOE VERA FACTS Stabilized Aloe is rich in Vitamins, Enzymes, Minerals, Sugars, Anthraquinones, Lignin, Saponins, Fatty Acids, Salicylic Acid, Amino Acids. I've also heard it said that Aloe Vera can stimulate cell growth, increase circulation, break down dead tissue, is nutritional, destroys viruses, fungi and bacteria, has a calming effect on nervous system, is a natural antiseptic and pain-killer.
