CALCIUM IN ALOE VERA
Did you know that there is calcium in Aloe Vera, along with a number of other minerals? I didn’t, until I investigated its content. So I thought I’d share these findings with you, as it seems to me quite remarkable that one plant can contain so much that is good for us.
By ‘us’ I am of course referring to humans and animals! If you’re wondering about those ‘other’ minerals, here are the main ones: magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, chromium, sodium, potassium and iron. Aloe Barbadensis Miller (the only type entitled to be known as aloe vera, or the true aloe) also contains: a wide range of vitamins, including Vitamin B12 amino acids (19 of the 20 required by the human body)sugars (including the long chain polysaccharides which boost the immune system) enzymes plant sterols (3 of which are powerful anti-inflammatory agents)saponins (which have a strong anti-microbial effect on bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeasts – e.g. candida or ‘thrush’)anthraquinones (collectively, strong painkillers)salycylic acid (anti-inflammatory) lignin (enables Aloe Vera to reach deep into the skin)Are you yet as impressed as I am by this 'Miracle Plant'?
