MEDICINAL USES OF ALOE

If ever you've wondered about possible medicinal uses of Aloe, did you happen to see the recent TV programme ANIMAL PARK when it was set in Longleat? It featured a handsome 45-year-old Male Gorilla taking his daily dose of Aloe Vera.
There was also a close-up of his tub of Forever Freedom, shown as part of his natural ‘medicine’ kit! Since gorillas only live to be about 28 in the wild, might his longevity not be at least in part due to his daily swig of Aloe Vera? I'd be very surprised if there were no connection.
Similarly, I regard the aftermath of a tragic event on 2 April 1997 as a powerful testimony to Aloe used 'medicinally': During that night, arsonists set fire to a barn at the South of England Rare Breeds Center in Kent. The barn was destroyed and, tragically, a number of cows were badly burned. Five Gloucester cattle had to be humanely destroyed, but others survived despite horrific burns. This was a double disaster for the farm, which as well as protecting several endangered species of farm animals also provides work opportunities for physically and mentally disabled adults in the area. Thankfully, the animals and their owners were subsequently introduced to Aloe Vera. Daily treatment of the burns with Gelly, Lotion and Veterinary Formula began - a harrowing experience in the early stages, dealing with injuries no human could endure. But the results over the next three months were truly amazing! The comprehensive healing of the burned areas astonished many in the Kentish veterinary community and elsewhere. Most importantly, the suffering of these beautiful creatures was eased. If asked, I doubt the cows would under-estimate the medicinal uses of Aloe!
